The dip itself is super easy to make, you pretty much just throw it all in a bowl and bam! To start, I chop up the onion. I like onion and always leave them in bigger chunks, but you can make them as big or small as you'd like. I then take a small bowl, and dump in the soft cream cheese. You really want to make sure it has had time to soften because you need to combine it with greek yogurt. If it's not soft, you will get a chunky dip.
Once the greek yogurt and cream cheese are blended together well, I add in the lemon juice. It mixes in better without all the other ingredients in the way, and it also help finish the combining of the cheese and yogurt. I then add in the onion I chopped before hand and mix it in well. After that is mixed in, I add in the dill and a small pinch of salt. You don't want to add too much salt at this point because the salmon will add some. But a small pinch will help the flavors really shine.
Now for the salmon! So my store is really awesome and has fillets of smoked salmon ready to buy so i use that in the dip and it is seriously amazing.
If your store doesn't have fillets, most places will have packaged smoked salmon by the imitation crab station and this stuff will work just as good. I cut the salmon up into pieces. I leave mine big because again I prefer to have chunky hearty dips, but you can also cut it small to have a well blended together dip. it really is all preference.
After the salmon is in, just mix it up and you are all set to go! I would give it a taste before serving to see if you need more dill or salt. You can serve this right away or keep it in the fridge and have it later!
I have had this both as a dip on dip night at work and also as a topping on my bagels. This dip is seriously one of my favorites and is so good however you choose to eat it! The entire bowl is only 7 points so eat up!
